Minnesota Environmental Partnership is proud to announce and welcome Christine Durand as its new Advancement Officer. Durand, who brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofits, will be responsible for the development and strategic communications of the organization, as well as providing leadership to the management team. She will focus on building strong long-lasting relationships with MEP’s supporters and securing funding through grants and donations.
“We’re thrilled to have Christine join our team. She brings a wealth of experience and skills,” said MEP Executive Director Steve Morse. “Communications with our members, constituents, and interested public is part of our core strategy and Christine will be an excellent resource to make sure our network’s voice is heard. She has the energy, talent, and commitment to help take MEP to the next level.”
Durand previously led the marketing and communications efforts at the largest statewide association of nonprofits, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. In that role she served as a key member of the organization’s leadership team and as a resource for MCN’s members in the areas of communications and fundraising, management, and leadership development. Most recently, she served as the Director of Development Communications for Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota. Durand has a M.P.A. from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a B.A. in Journalism from Drake University.
“I’m honored to join an organization that has worked to instigate positive change for our environment here in Minnesota,” said Durand. “My entire career has been to increase the effectiveness of great nonprofit organizations so they can better accomplish their missions. I look forward to continuing that tradition at MEP.”
