Happy New Year’s Eve from the Sierra Club North Star Chapter! Whether you go out on the town or stay home, today marks an opportunity for us all to reflect and aspire in our own lives. The Sierra Club’s mission is to explore, enjoy and protect the planet. Consider making 2013 the year you “explore, enjoy and protect the planet.”
1. Explore and Enjoy the Outdoors.
We have volunteer led ski, hike, bike or kayak trips almost every week here in Minnesota or join the Sierra Club for one of our international or service outings. If you’re already an avid outdoors person, why not make this the year you get involved with our inner city outings or outings programs?
2. Meet New People Who Care Abut the Environment.
Join us for a social event like our Save the Ales happy hours or Older, Wiser, Livelier (OWLs) activities for a low-key way to meet new people and connect with others committed to explore, enjoy and protect the planet. We also offer clean energy tours and other educational events. Check out our calendar of events.
3. Make a Difference as a Volunteer.
The Sierra Club is a volunteer-led organization. In Minnesota, the North Star Chapter has over a dozen volunteer committees working on a variety of issues ranging from clean air and renewable energy to forest and wildland protections. Volunteers are what make the North Star Chapter the leading grassroots voice to preserve and protect the environment. Fill out our volunteer interest survey and check out our New Member and Volunteer Night on January 8th to get started!
Tell us your New Year’s resolution to go green in 2013.
From all of us at the Sierra Club North Star Chapter, we wish you a safe, wonderful and green 2013!
