POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Individual Giving will partner with the Development Director and Data Manager to meet and exceed revenue goals from individuals. This position is ideal for a fund development professional looking to be part of a successful team who is committed to laughing and working hard together. This position manages two or more of MCEA’s fundraising campaigns, has a portfolio of mid-tier donors, performs donor outreach, and shares responsibility for implementing fundraising efforts to acquire, grow and sustain support for a leading environmental nonprofit. This position reports to the Director of Development and has no direct reports.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: The primary responsibility of this position is the strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual fund donors. Duties include:
- Coordinate individual giving campaigns, encompassing both direct mail and digital appeals.
- Manage a portfolio of mid-tier donors by building opportunities for engagement and increased support.
- Develop new and maintain existing sponsorship relationships.
- Participate in departmental planning to grow MCEA’s individual giving through use of sector-wide data and a community-focused lens.
- Build donor relationships through phone calls, notes, meetings, and stewardship strategies.
- Partner with Development, Communications, and Finance staff to maintain donation seals and the online annual report.
Additional Job Responsibilities
- Support major gift appeals with phone calling
- Assist with special events as needed
- Develop an understanding of MCEA programs and partnerships to best communicate with stakeholders
- Contribute to a welcoming and respectful work environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of demonstrated success in individual giving
- Detail oriented, with an ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse staff and a broad constituency
- Mission-aligned: committed to building a more just, healthy, and abundant future
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace and other technology tools
- Ability to handle confidential information and financial data ethically and with discretion
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current with developments in philanthropy, including Community-Centric Fundraising
- Familiarity with the environmental movement
- Experience with donor databases
