Employment Terms: Full-time Permanent
Starting Salary Range: $47,750-$57,170 plus health, dental, vision, and retirement plan (Starting salary based on qualifications and experience)

Position Description:
The Resource Specialist will work with landowners to ensure compliance with wetland and buffer strip regulations and offer technical assistance with implementing a wide variety of conservation practices. The key programs this position will perform are Administration of the MN Wetland Conservation Act and Buffer Law rules as specified by the Board of Water and Soil Resources. Assist with the survey and design of soil conservation practices. Promote the conservation objectives of the district.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education-Minimum four year degree in Soil Science, Natural Resources/Environmental Science, or closely related field with related work experience.
- Knowledge/experience in the use of ArcMAP for land use planning.
- Knowledge of the MN Wetland Conservation Act rules.
- Knowledge of the MN Buffer Law rules.
- Experience with delineation of wetlands.
- Experience with survey and design of grassed waterways, diversions, and sediment control basins.
- Self-motivated. Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills; capable of working effectively with in the public, private, and government sector.
- Physical ability to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform outdoor work in all seasons of the year. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
